A British mother and her two daughters have been killed in a horror crash in New York. Natasha Saada, 34, who grew up in Mill Hill, north London, was walking home from a synagogue with her two daughters Diana, eight, and Deborah, five, when they were hit by the Audi last Saturday afternoon.

The mother and her daughters were pronounced dead at the scene, while Natasha’s four-year-old son survived but was critically injured. The alleged driver of the Audi involved in the crash, Miriam Yarimi, 32, is currently in Bellevue Hospital’s prison ward undergoing a psychiatric evaluation before her arraignment, it is reported.

According to the New York Police Department, Yarimi, of Midwood, has been charged with three courts of manslaughter in the second degree. She was allegedly driving with a suspended license and is also accused of three counts of criminally negligent homicide, four counts of assault in the second degree, reckless driving and speeding.

The three victims were buried in Jerusalem, Israel, on Monday night. Rabbi Yitzchak Schochet of Mill Hill Synagogue, north London, travelled to the funeral to support Mrs Saada's grieving family.

He told Jewish News: "The whole community is grief-stricken. Natasha grew up in Mill Hill and is fondly remembered by many. They are a beautiful family and we are all mourning along with them."

As reported by the Daily Mail, pictures from the scene show Yarimi's Audi flipped upside town in the road. The driver was trapped in the vehicle before being rescued by firefighters.

Online reports suggest the Audi had accrued 93 traffic violations. They include 20 speeding tickets and over $10,000 in fines.

New York Mayor Eric Adams described the crash as "a tragic accident of Shakesperean proportions". He added: "A mother going for a simple stroll on a sunny day was struck and killed. The city mourns with this community."
