UK weather maps indicate the UK's beautiful sunny weather will continue later this month as temperatures are likely to hit 22C in days.

A forecast from Netweather shows gorgeous Spring weather returning on April 13, with parts of the south of England treated to the best conditions.

The map shows an area just west of London reaching 22C, while the capital itself enjoys 20C temperatures, as does an are further West covering parts of Berkshire and Oxfordshire.

As for the rest of the country, much of England is expected to see temperatures ranging between 18C and 20C.

The north of England and the southern half of Scotland are forecasted to see temperatures of 16C-17C.

Meanwhile, the north of Scotland will see cooler conditions, with temperatures as low as 12C in the Scottish Highlands.

Much of Wales will enjoy 18C heat while Northern Ireland appears green on the weather maps, indicating temperatures of 14C-15C.

The Met Office's forecast for April 9-18 says "largely settled conditions" are expected with dry weather and "plenty of sunshine for most."

The national forecaster adds that temperatures will largely depend on wind direction and cloudiness.

However, the Met Office said: "Towards the middle of April, the weather is likely to turn more unsettled for a time with a greater chance of showers or longer spells of rain for all regions."

As for the latter part of April, the service says there will be "showers or longer spells of rain at times for most."

During the period, temperatures will be average at first before rising again later in the month.

The Met Office concluded: "Temperatures are likely to be around average at first, before above average temperatures become more likely again later in the period."

On Friday, Brits were treated to the hottest day of the year so far, as temperatures went above 23C in the south of England.

This meant parts of the UK were warmer than Ibiza, Rhodes and Cyprus.

The highest April temperature ever recorded in the UK was 29.4C on 16 April 1949.
