Strictly fave turned It Takes Two host Janette Manrara gave an emotional account of how she seeks a balance between hectic work commitments and quality time with family - and in particular, her daughter, whom she "loves parenting". She discussed the daily struggle in an interview which will no doubt be relatable to many working mums.
The star, who is married to Slovenian Strictly pro Aljaz Skorjanec confirmed: "It's hard, and you have to really kind of manage your time and prioritise family. Coming from someone like me who loves what I do and loves my job, I have really felt that I have found a good balance, but that also stems from having a good partner." She continued to The Mirror: “You need to have someone by your side that has the same kind of attitude as you do, that they love to work, but they also love to be a parent.
“Then between the two of you, that communication, that teamwork, prioritising the baby and making sure that you know they are the forefront of any decision you make as a family, is there.”
Janette was trolled online after opting to return to work just weeks after giving birth, but she ignored the naysayers, referencing her strong "work ethic", which she attributes to the influence of her immigrant parents.
Aljaz, with whom she has been in a solid relationship for almost 15 years, stepped up to make sure he could take care of little Lyra while she was gone.
She has always been open about her "mum guilt" as she wrestles with the conflict of constant commitments, even posting tearful videos of herself on Instagram when train delays left her unable to get home in time to put Lyra in bed. And, on another occasion, found herself trapped abroad due to the fire that broke out recently at Heathrow Airport.
Her latest comments come after she bagged a huge role in Chicago The Musical, which has already begun its tour of the UK today. The new career move marks the first time the 41-year-old has ever appeared in a West End show. She admitted she burst into tears of joy when she discovered she'd landed the part of Roxie Hart.
The tour hits Nottingham tonight for the first in a six-day stint of shows, before heading to Birmingham, Truro, Llandudno, Cardiff, Canterbury, Bristol, Wimbledon, Leicester, Wolverhampton, Hull, Eastbourne, Norwich and Blackpool. Viewers in Woking won't be left out as the tour arrives there on July 28, followed by shows in Sunderland, Crawley and Glasgow, and concluding with the grand finale in Salford.
