Nestled on a beloved Canary Island lies a charming seaside village that remains largely undiscovered by the typical tourist. Arrieta, a quaint town situated in Haría, is a hidden gem in Lanzarote that is often overlooked by holidaymakers despite having highs of 24C in April, according to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA).

The locale is characterised by its narrow lanes, brimming with colourful eateries and inviting apartments. In Arrieta, you're never far from the ocean, with the town boasting an impressive coastline. Visitors can indulge in various activities, including exploring a nearby cave, beach, and natural pool - perfect for family outings.

Fishing is also a popular pastime in the area, offering a tranquil way to unwind during your stay.

Arrieta is nestled within a part of Lanzarote and is renowned for its untamed and abundant natural beauty.

The region's attractions, such as the exotic Guinate Park bird sanctuary and the volcanic tunnels and caverns of Jameos del Agua, reflect this, reports the Mirror.

Additionally, visitors can wander through an incredible cactus garden and explore the Cueva de las Verdes lava tube - a six-kilometre-long tunnel formed by lava flows from the nearby Monte Corona volcano.

The village's main draw is La Garita beach, which boasts a bay of pristine water that extends over 800 metres and is a favourite among surfers.

Within the village itself, you'll find historical structures such as the church of Nuestra Señora del Carmen and the distinctive Casa Azul (Blue House).

The village also prides itself on its superb seafood restaurants, often hailed as the finest in Lanzarote.

If you visit towards the end of July, you can participate in the festival honouring Nuestra Señora del Carmen, a title bestowed upon the Virgin Mary as the patroness of the Carmelite Order.

This vibrant celebration sees the streets come alive with locals donning traditional attire to pay their respects to the Virgin Mary, culminating in a poignant procession aboard small fishing vessels.

Arrieta is most conveniently reached by car, although bus services are also available. The journey from Lanzarote Airport to Arrieta takes just under half an hour by car.

In April, the average high temperature is a pleasant 24C, while the average low is a comfortable 16C. Rainfall is minimal throughout the month, with typically only one day of rain on average.

Lanzarote, one of the most frequented Canary Islands situated off the West African coast, is renowned for its perennially warm climate, sandy beaches, and striking volcanic terrain.
