Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis are set to make an important public appearance in just a few weeks to mark an incredible historic milestone. The three royal siblings will accompany their parents Prince William, 42, and Princess Kate, 43, on the Buckingham Palace balcony with the monarch as part of commemorations marking the 80th anniversary of VE Day, according to a source.

Prince George, 11, Princess Charlotte - who will be 10 at the time of the event - and Prince Louis, six, will get to join senior royals as they watch a flypast featuring current and historic aircraft, including the Red Arrows display team. It is likely the balcony appearance will be on May 5, when celebrations marking VE Day’s anniversary begin.

The King and Queen Camilla will also be joined by other royals, with this likely to include Princess Anne, Prince Edward and Duchess Sophie.

According to The Mirror, Charles, 76, will view a military procession from the Buckingham Palace balcony in the same spot where Winston Churchill appeared in 1945. A source told the paper: “His Majesty is dedicated to bring his family and the country together in honour of Britain’s war dead and recreate the sense of community that came with the celebrations to mark VE Day.

“The four days of commemorations will be a fantastic opportunity for the country to unite for such a special occasion, 80 years after victory was declared in Europe."

The four-day commemorations will begin on bank holiday on May 5, with VE Day on May 8 marking the allied victory in Europe.

Each of the events during the four-day period will pay tribute to the millions of people across the UK and Commonwealth who served in the Second World War by telling the stories of those involved in the war.

Buckingham Palace and Kensington Palace have not yet commented on which royals are expected to be seen on the Buckingham Palace balcony.
