Prince Harry has missed the wedding of one of his closest friends despite arriving in the UK yesterday ahead of a court hearing regarding his security. The Duke of Sussex, 40, was invited to his friend Charles Vivian’s wedding, which took place over the weekend in London.

It is believed the pair have been close friends for a number of years, with close confidant Charles having been at Harry’s wedding to Meghan Markle in 2018. Lord Vivian, 58, has also helped Harry with several charity trips over the years to Africa. Despite this, it appears Harry did not have time to attend his friend’s wedding, which took place over the weekend.

As revealed by The Daily Mail, Lord Vivian married his new wife Saweda Kamara at Chelsea Old Town Hall.

He told the paper that Harry was invited to the wedding but did not attend. When asked why the Duke wasn’t present, the groom said: "I don't know. He has a lot on."

This is despite the fact Harry did in fact fly to the UK ahead of his High Court hearing today, which he is attending in person.

The Duke of Sussex has been in a legal battle with the Home Office after it was decided in February 2020 decision by the Executive Committee for the Protection of Royalty and Public Figures (Ravec) that the should receive a different degree of taxpayer-funded protection when in the country as a result of his decision to step down from royal life.

Prince Harry then filed a claim for a judicial review of the Home Office's decision shortly after it was made.

It was ruled in court in 2024 that the decision regarding the change in his security status was not unlawful or "irrational", and that there had been no "procedural unfairness" towards the duke.

However, Harry then launched an appeal against this ruling, with the case set to be heard again in front of three judges this week on Tuesday and Wednesday.
