The UK is in for a burst of hot weather at the start of next month, with top temperatures of 22C predicted to blast the capital, according to Netweather. The temperature has been predicted for April 6, with the online forecaster showing 22C around 6pm in London on the same day, with East Anglia and the south coast seeing highs north of 20C, too.

The Midlands are predicted to see the mercury hovering just below 20C, while Wales will see temperatures in the high teens too. The south-west will be warm, but not as warm as the south-east. The north-west of England could see 18C, but there's a chance temperatures could be lower than 15C. That applies to the north-east of England as well.

In Scotland, the weather will be cooler. Temperatures will be between 15C and 10C, with the warmest areas in Aberdeenshire, according to Netweather. Northern Ireland will see temperatures between 10C and 13C.

WX Charts is also predicting hot weather at the start of April, however it does not predict the highs to be as high. Top temperatures are forecast to be 19C and it is also forecasting the sweaty conditions to arrive a day earlier on April 5. Much like Netweather, WX Charts predicts the hottest temperatures to be in London and the south-east. The coolest weather is predicted to be in northern Scotland.

The online forecaster predicts April 6 to be much cooler, unlike Netweather. Around noon, when temperatures should be nearing their peak, WX Charts forecasts that the top temperatures will be around 12C in southern England. The coolest temperatures in the country are predicted to be in the Scottish Highlands, at around 4C.

This evening and tonight:

Windy in the northwest as rain slowly moves southeast across Scotland and Northern Ireland. Low cloud and a little drizzle also developing across western hills and coasts. Otherwise clear spells elsewhere, with mist and fog patches by dawn.

Thursday:

Cloud and rain continues to sink southeast, becoming heavy and persistent later. Ahead of this, mist and fog clearing to leave a dry day with some sunny spells.

Outlook for Friday to Sunday:

Rain eventually clears southeast through Friday, with cooler weather, sunny spells and scattered showers following. Further rain possible in the west on Saturday, but drier overall on Sunday.
