Hairy Bikers star Dave Myers’ final motorbike has been sold at auction for a staggering five-figure sum after the star’s tragic death to cancer. Dave succumbed to the disease in 2024, leaving behind wife Liliana Orzac and his two stepchildren from her previous relationship. He also left behind a lasting legacy with more than 45,000 motorbikes taking part in a ride from London to Barrow-in-Furness for ‘Dave Day’ to raise money for both NSPCC Childline and The Institute of Cancer Research.

Now the last bike the star rode on BBC cooking show Hairy Bikers with his pal Si King has been sold, with the proceeds going to two charities. His widow Lilian wanted the bike to go to a good home when it went under the hammer at the National Motorcycle Museum near Solihull.

She told the BBC: “That bike still has his DNA on it... I really really hope that the person who gets it, loves it. I am really, really happy to see this bike being loved, and I'm sure the person who got it will love it as much as Dave did.”

The bike sold for a staggering £15,800 to Si Harrison, one of Dave’s friends. The proceeds will be donated to NSPCC Childline and CancerCare North Lancashire & South Cumbria.

It comes after Dave’s memorial bike ride Dave Day raised an incredible £127,000 for charity. His co-star Si King gushed at the time: “It was just absolutely remarkable. What a remarkable reception. Just mind-blowing. All of the over bridges all the way from London up to Barrow-in-Furness, people waving and showing kindness and courtesy – unbelievable.”

Dave never publicly revealed the type of cancer he was diagnosed with, but underwent chemotherapy treatment to help battle the disease. Sadly when he was 66 he died surrounded by family and friends, and had already planned his own funeral.

The diagnosis came after Dave lost his first fiancée to cancer in 1998. Later that year the chef himself discovered he had an arachnoid cyst on his brain, and was forced to undergo surgery to drain it after suffering migraines and memory loss.
